Welcome to the Providence Recovery Website
On February 27, 2009, I signed an executive order to make sure that every, single American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) dollar is spent in the most effective way possible. That means having a transparent tracking system, and that’s what this website is all about.
Posted here are descriptions of projects being pursued with ARRA funding, details on where the funding is coming from, and information about how all of this could impact your health care coverage, food stamps, financial aid, social security, unemployment, tax credits, and more. There is also a place for community-based organizations to submit projects that they hope to fund using stimulus dollars.
It’s critical that we maximize these funds to their fullest potential to create jobs, rebuild our infrastructure and get our economy moving again. I will do everything in my power to ensure that every single dollar is accounted for and invested wisely as we work towards strengthening our economy and ensuring the long-term prosperity of our city and state.
